Jacques has practiced law for more than 25 years in Amsterdam and Rotterdam. His practice as legal counsel and litigator is focusing on matters of corporate, commercial, restructuring and insolvency law.
He has acted as court appointed administrator and bankruptcy trustee in various high profile insolvencies, including the Dutch airline Holland Exel.
He has also acted as legal counsel of the financial supervisory authorities AFM and DNB in the Netherlands. In the period 2008-2015 he was closely involved in the insolvency and restructuring of a USD 20 bn Icelandic bank which earned him recognition in leading legal guides Chambers Global and Chambers Europe. Clients describe him as ‘technically adept’ and ‘a skillful negotiator’.
In 2015/2016 he worked as in-house legal counsel for the Dutch Central Bank.
