Marie finished Law School in 2016 at the University of Leiden, specializing in Constitutional and Administrative Law. In 2016 she also completed the Leiden Leadership Programme at the Honours Academy of Leiden. During her time as a student she was an active member of the student association Res Publica and participated in a committee advising the Honours Academy on the quality of the curriculum.
She also followed several additional legal courses during her time as a student, and worked as a legal assistant. Marie wrote her thesis on the legal framework of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the interaction between the Kingdom government and the Governors of Curacao, St. Maarten and Aruba.
After moving to Curaçao, Marie joined HBN Law in November 2016. She advises and litigates in the general law practice with a focus on matters in administrative law.
