Peer acts as an external advisor to HBN Law since 2018. He is currently a partner in the Dutch law firm Andringa Caljé Advocaten in Rotterdam and is a specialised tax and criminal defense lawyer. Furthermore he is a deputy judge in district court (tax chamber) in Haarlem.
He started his career in 2000 as a tax attorney with Clifford Chance in Amsterdam and has been admitted to the Dutch Bar Association since. Peer switched to Hertoghs in 2003 and soon after started his own practice specialising in tax litigation and white collar crime.
Peer assists HBN Law in the areas of his expertise. He specialises in tax litigation both regarding the assessment of taxes and the collection of taxes (for example directors liability). He defends his clients in criminal cases if these are related to tax obligations and provides in-house courses on dealing with ‘dawn raids’. Peer serves both companies and their directors.
Peer regularly provides annotations to case law for different legal publications in The Netherlands and is a lecturer Moot Court at the University of Leiden.
